About Toolkit

Toolkit is looking for engineers to help us eliminate grunt work in every company. We are starting with finance teams, who waste three quarters of their year on grunt work due to siloed and bloated software.

We are a deeply technical team obsessed with unglamorous problems that slow down every company. We are backed by Entrepreneur First and the fund behind Brex, Snowflake, and Anduril, with a $3.4M seed round raised in December 2024.

Currently, we are in pilots with many of the US's fastest growing VC-backed companies.

Phil

Phil: Co-Founder, CEO

  • Stanford EE B.S. & CS M.S., top 1%.
  • Worked at startups solving Grunt Work™ since age 15.
  • Built hardware and software for satellites at Capella Space, robots at Google X, drones at PRENAV.
  • Created Bitcoin payment SaaS at River. It gained El Salvador's government as its first customer.
  • Loves to read and write sci-fi and deadlift.
Michael

Michael: Co-Founder, CTO

  • Repeat founder: started his first VC-backed company at 16, dynamically pricing $500M of inventory.
  • Created $110m VC fund Jigsaw at age 26, where he built the precursor tech to Toolkit.
  • Obsessed with Grunt Work™: built his first ERP at age 12.
  • Built Leaf, the high-performance ML-framework in 2014 with 5K stars on GitHub.

Agustin

Agustin: Founding Software Engineer

  • Maths Olympiad National Champion: #1 in Uruguay.
  • Physics Olympiad National Podium: #3 in Uruguay.
  • Winner of both the Santander X Startups Competition and the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab Hackathon.
  • Repeat founder: started Hyract to solve problems across robotics and AI. Left to join Toolkit.
  • Shovelled snow for 6 months because he loves Grunt Work™ so much.

Param: Founding Software Engineer

  • Penn State Math B.S., Summa Cum Laude.
  • #1 in graduate-level ML competitions and top 13% in the William Lowell Putnam competition.
  • Masterminded Greenbrier's "most successful project in their century-long history," wrangling messy data across two ERPs and migrating to a third.
  • Abolished Grunt Work™ by architecting a Python library that powered three multi-million dollar migrations.
  • Spends free time in nature, singing Hindustani classical, and listening to metalcore/alt rock and Vocaloid music.
Sachin

Sachin: Founding Software Engineer

  • Worked together with Phil to create a Bitcoin payment SaaS at River.
  • Built Bitcoin & Lightning infrastructure that supported two of the largest Lightning nodes in the world.
  • Automated Grunt Work™ for financial operations.
  • Loves to read history, lift heavy things, and design board games.

  • Designed an automated invoicing app to remove Grunt Work™ from an enterprise's 5000+ monthly orders.
